I qualified as a midwife in 1984 having had my own 2 daughters first. I decided that I wanted to be a midwife when I was pregnant with my first daughter.

I also have 5 grandchildren.

I have worked in many different maternity settings within the NHS, these include hospital, community, management, education and neonatal/Special Care Baby Units.

As an independent midwife with many years NHS experience, I have decided to work with women who choose the independent midwife option.

I am able to provide a high quality of midwifery care that in reality I feel all women deserve.

I find that being an independent midwife is the most rewarding work I have done so far.
